Premature ejaculation (PE), also known as early ejaculation or Sheeghrapatan, is one of the most common sexual concerns among men.
In my clinical practice, I regularly meet patients who complain about poor sexual timing. Some ejaculate within 30 seconds, while others lose control almost immediately after penetration. Their main concern is usually the same: they want to last longer and improve their partner’s sexual satisfaction.
But before looking for premature ejaculation treatment, there is something important to understand.
Sexual satisfaction is not simply about counting seconds or minutes.
A man may experience an orgasm within a minute, but his partner may need more time and different forms of stimulation. Women vary considerably in how they reach orgasm, and many require clitoral stimulation rather than penetration alone.
If you are struggling with early ejaculation, there are some practical steps you can try at home.
In this article, I will explain 5 home remedies for premature ejaculation that I discuss with patients, along with the situations in which medical evaluation may be necessary.
1. Kegel Exercises for Better Ejaculation Control
Kegel exercises are not just for women. Men can also use pelvic floor exercises to improve muscle awareness and control.
The pelvic floor contains muscles involved in erection and ejaculation, including the bulbocavernosus muscle.
Training these muscles correctly may help some men improve ejaculation control.
How to Perform Kegel Exercises at Home
You can perform Kegel exercises while sitting, standing or lying down.
- Gently contract your pelvic floor muscles.
- Hold the contraction briefly.
- Release the muscles and relax completely.
- Repeat the contraction-and-relaxation movement without straining.
The important thing is to learn both contraction and relaxation.
I often explain to patients that Kegel exercises do not mean keeping the pelvic floor muscles tight all the time.
Excessive tightening without proper relaxation can contribute to pelvic floor discomfort and may worsen symptoms in some men.
Correct pelvic floor training also involves breathing coordination, controlled contractions and relaxation exercises.
My advice: Focus on learning the correct technique rather than simply performing more repetitions.
2. Glans Massage and Sensitivity Training
Another concern I frequently encounter in patients with premature ejaculation is increased sensitivity around the glans, or head of the penis.
Some men describe ejaculating almost immediately when the glans comes into contact with their partner during penetration.
In these situations, sensitivity management may be one part of the treatment approach.
Can Glans Massage Help Premature Ejaculation?
Gentle glans massage is one of the methods I discuss when working with patients who report excessive sensitivity.
The idea is to help the patient become more comfortable with touch and better understand his response to stimulation.
In the video, I discuss gentle massage using coconut oil, vitamin E oil or a suitable massage preparation.
However, these oils are not established treatments for premature ejaculation, and massage does not reliably reduce sensitivity in every patient.
Avoid forceful rubbing or pulling back a tight foreskin. Stop if irritation, pain or discomfort develops.
In my experience, it is important to understand whether sensitivity is actually contributing to early ejaculation before recommending treatment directed at the glans.
My advice: If the glans is extremely sensitive or the foreskin cannot be retracted comfortably, consult a urologist rather than repeatedly attempting massage.

3. Check Your Vitamin D Levels
Vitamin D is another factor I discuss with patients during consultations about their general and sexual health.
Vitamin D plays an important role in several bodily functions, including normal muscle function, bone health and nerve health.
It is also involved in processes relevant to the nervous system.
Does Vitamin D Improve Premature Ejaculation?
In my clinical practice, I consider nutritional deficiencies when evaluating patients, particularly if there are other symptoms or reasons to suspect a deficiency.
However, there is currently insufficient evidence that vitamin D supplementation alone treats premature ejaculation or produces a rapid improvement in ejaculation timing.
Correcting a confirmed deficiency is important for overall health, but it should not be presented as a guaranteed solution for PE.
What Should You Do?
If you suspect vitamin D deficiency, discuss testing with your doctor.
If your levels are low, your doctor can recommend an appropriate dose and duration of supplementation.
Do not take high-dose vitamin D supplements or injections without medical advice, because excessive vitamin D can cause serious health problems.
My advice: Correct nutritional deficiencies when present, but do not rely on vitamins as a replacement for proper premature ejaculation treatment.
4. Review Your Masturbation Habits
Masturbation habits are another subject I regularly discuss with patients concerned about sexual timing.
Some patients tell me they have become accustomed to masturbating quickly, with the primary goal of reaching ejaculation.
When these men begin having partnered sex, they may find it difficult to slow down or control their arousal.
Should You Stop Masturbating to Improve Timing?
In the video, I explain that some patients have reported improvement after reducing or temporarily stopping masturbation.
These are clinical observations, not proof that masturbation itself causes premature ejaculation.
Masturbation is generally a normal sexual activity and does not inherently cause erectile dysfunction, testosterone deficiency or premature ejaculation.
What may be more relevant is the pattern of stimulation, particularly if someone habitually rushes towards orgasm.
What Can You Try at Home?
If you notice that you regularly masturbate in a hurry, consider changing that habit.
Avoid rushing to ejaculation, pay attention to your level of arousal and try to develop better control over your response to stimulation.
If reducing masturbation helps you feel more comfortable or in control, you can continue with that approach.
My advice: Focus on unhealthy or rushed habits rather than assuming that masturbation itself is the problem.
5. Glans Exposure and Foreskin Problems
The fifth point is particularly relevant for men who have difficulty retracting their foreskin.
In my practice, I see young men who have never been able to comfortably expose the glans because of a tight foreskin.
This condition is called phimosis.
Some of these patients also report discomfort, increased sensitivity or difficulty during sexual activity.
Can Foreskin Problems Affect Ejaculation Timing?
A tight foreskin may make sexual activity uncomfortable and can complicate sensitivity-related concerns.
However, phimosis is not necessarily the cause of premature ejaculation, and circumcision is not an established routine treatment for PE.
If the foreskin retracts normally, gentle exposure during regular washing may help a man become more familiar with the sensation of touch.
There is no need to keep the glans exposed continuously.
If the foreskin is tight, painful or cannot be retracted, do not force it.
My advice: When premature ejaculation occurs alongside a tight foreskin, both concerns should be evaluated rather than assuming that sensitivity reduction alone will solve the problem.
What If These Home Remedies for Premature Ejaculation Do Not Work?
One thing I always emphasize is that not every patient experiences premature ejaculation for the same reason.
Two men may complain about ejaculating within 30 seconds, but their underlying problems can be different.
For example, one patient may have difficulty controlling arousal, while another may have pelvic floor dysfunction or significant performance anxiety.
Some patients report hypersensitivity around the glans. Others may have additional medical or sexual health concerns that require evaluation.
This is why giving every patient the same tablet, delay spray or exercise routine is not necessarily the right approach.
The important question is not simply, “Which medicine can increase my timing?”
It is, “Why am I ejaculating earlier than I want to?”
Understanding the cause helps determine which treatment is likely to be appropriate.
When Should You Consult a Urologist?
Consider consulting a qualified urologist or andrologist if you:
- Regularly ejaculate sooner than you want and find it difficult to control.
- Experience ongoing distress or relationship difficulties because of ejaculation timing.
- Have pain, a tight foreskin or other genital symptoms.
- Experience premature ejaculation alongside erection problems.
- Notice that the problem has developed suddenly or is becoming worse.
A proper consultation can help identify the problem and determine whether lifestyle measures, behavioral techniques, medication or other treatment options are appropriate.
If you are searching for 5 home remedies for premature ejaculation, the main takeaway is that improving sexual timing begins with understanding your body and identifying the factors contributing to your symptoms.
Pelvic floor exercises, attention to stimulation habits, appropriate management of sensitivity, correction of nutritional deficiencies and evaluation of foreskin problems are the five areas discussed here.
However, not every approach is suitable for every patient, and home measures cannot guarantee a particular ejaculation time.
Throughout my clinical experience, I have found that understanding the individual patient’s problem is more useful than simply recommending the same treatment to everyone.
If your ejaculation timing continues to bother you despite trying appropriate home-based measures, seek a proper medical evaluation.
